ナレーター : After a week in the crowded city, what's more relaxing than driving out to the country for the day? Okay, sometimes the drive is slow. But it's a good time to think about relaxing stuff like feeding ducks.

混雑した都会で１週間過ごしてから、田舎に向かうドライブほど心地のいいものはありません。まぁ、ときどき渋滞しますが。しかしアヒルたちにエサをあげるなんていうのを想像するのにもいい時間です。

テッド : That was the worst traffic ever. But the day's not over yet. Let's feed the ducks. Hi, Mrs. Renkins. Something wrong?

あんなひどい渋滞は初めてだ。でも今日はまだ終わってない。アヒルにえさをあげよう。どうも、レンキンスさん。どうかしたんですか？

レンキンス : The chicks wandered off. My chicken is very upset. If I don't find 'em before dark...

ひよこがはぐれちゃって。親鶏が心配しちゃって。暗くなる前に見つけられなかったら、、、

テッド : Yeah, not much time left to feed ducks, either. I'll help you search. You can feed them without me, okay George? But stay by the duck pen. I don't want you to get lost like the chicks.

えぇ、私も早くアヒルにえさをあげないと。捜すのを手伝いますよ。僕がいなくてもエサをあげられるね、ジョージ？でもアヒルのエサ場のそばにいてね。お前まで迷子になったら困るからね。

ナレーター : Feeding ducks is like a relaxing brain massage. Jumpy Squirrel was a good jumper and an even better food finder. This was great. George never had ducks swim all around him before.

アヒルにエサをあげるのはリラックスできる脳のマッサージのようです。ジャンピーはジャンプが得意ですが、エサを見つけるのも得意です。いい気分です。アヒルたちが周りを泳いでいるなんて初めてです。

ナレーター : If ducks swam all around, it meant he was floating down river, with ducks! It was almost like being a duck.

アヒルが周りを泳いでいるということは、川を下っているということです、アヒルと一緒に！まるでアヒルになったようです。

テッド : Let's see if the chicks are along the fence. Hey, maybe they squeezed out here.

この柵沿いにヒヨコがいるか見てみましょう。もしかしたらここから抜け出したのかも。

レンキンス : Then they could be anywhere.　だとしたらどこにいるか分からないわ。

テッド : Maybe they'll figure out how to find their way home again.

家までの帰り道を見つけて戻ってくるかも。

ナレーター : At that very moment, the chicks were trying to find their way home. But they were bad at it. Really bad. And speaking of lost... George was too busy being a duck to notice he was floating away from home, fast.

ちょうどそのころヒヨコだちは帰り道を見つけようとしていました。でもうまくいきません。全然ダメです。そして迷子と言えば、ジョージはアヒルになったようで速いスピードで川を流されていることに気づきません。

ナレーター : Jumpy tried to warn George because he didn't want his friend to get lost, and take all that food with him!

ジャンピーはジョージに知らせようとしました、迷子になって欲しくないし、エサも全部取って欲しくないし。

ナレーター : Soon they were in a place they'd never seen before which may George curious.

Jumpy thought they should jump onto that small boat on the right or was it on the left. And it wasn't small. It wasn't even in the river.

そのうち彼らは見たことのない場所まで来ました、ジョージは興味いっぱいです。ジャンピーは右側にある船に飛び移ろうと思いました、いや左側でしょうか？船は小さくありません。しかも川の中ではありません。

ナレーター : But Jumpy missed home. Trees, where a squirrel belongs! But the river was moving too fast. The sun was setting fast. Which meant time for the ducks to fly home, right passed the big rock that looked like a duck. George realized they should be heading back that way, too.

ジャンピーは家に帰りたくなりました。木です、それこそ自分の居場所です！しかし川の流れが速すぎます。日がどんどん落ちていきます。つまりアヒルは家に帰る時間です、アヒルみたいな大きな岩の横を飛んでいきました。ジョージは自分たちもその方向に行けばいいのだと分かりました。

テッド : Here chick, chick, chick, chick.　ここだよ、ヒヨコちゃん。

レンキンス : I’ll tell you what. Let's check the cornfield before it gets too dark!

そうだ。暗くなる前にトウモロコシ畑を見てみましょう！

テッド : Okay. They gotta be around here somewhere.　わかった。この辺りにいるはずなんだけど。

ナレーター : There was the Renkin’s silo! The river brought them back home! They weren't lost. All they had to was stop. It was a long way to run, but when they got to that silo they knew they'd be completely lost. It was the wrong silo.

レンキンスさんのサイロです！川の流れが家まで戻してくれたのです！迷っていなかったんです。あとは止まるだけ。距離は結構ありました、でもサイロに着いたところで、完全に迷ってしまっていることが分かりました。

ナレーター : They were now even more lost than the lost chicks. George couldn't even find the river. Nothing looked familiar. But there was the duck rock again. A landmark! George had an idea. They saw the big duck rock. What else did they pass on river?

迷子のヒヨコたちより迷ってしまいました。ジョージは川すら見つけられません。見慣れないものばかりです。でもアヒルの大岩はありました。目印になります！ジョージには考えがありました。アヒルの大岩を見ました。他に川で何を通り過ぎたでしょうか？

ナレーター : The big trees, the boat, and Renkin’s silo! The sun set behind the Renkins silo.　Suddenly they didn't feel so lost. They ran to the rock. But when they got there, it didn't look like the big duck rock. But as George walked around, he discovered it was the big duck rock!

大木、船、あとレンキンスさんのサイロ！そしてそのサイロの後ろには夕日。急に迷っていないように思えました。彼らは大岩のところまで走りました。しかしそこに着いてみるとアヒルのようには見えません。でもジョージが周りを歩いてみると、それはアヒルの大岩だと分かりました！

ナレーター : The big trees! They had found the next landmark. And there was the boat, another landmark. If he followed the river all the way he would find the silo. With the sun right behind it.

But George realized that if he took the river all the way around, it would take too long.

大きな木です！次の目印を見つけました。そして次の目印である船も見つけました。ずっと川に沿って行くと、サイロを見つけました。後ろに太陽も輝いています。でも川に沿って行くと、時間がかかり過ぎると思いました。

ナレーター : They could just take a shortcut and follow the sun. This couldn't be easier. Okay, it would've been easier if they could see where they were going. They had to walk towards the sun, but how could they find it now? It was that way. The chicks recognized those friendly monkey's feet.

近道をすることができます、それで太陽の方に行けます。これほど簡単なことはありません。まぁ、向かっている方向が分かればもっと簡単かもしれません。太陽の方に向かって行かなくてはいけません、でも今どうしたら見つけられるでしょうか？こっちです。ヒヨコたちはそれが優しいサルの足だと分かりました。

レンキンス : We'll never find those chicks in the dark!　暗くなったらヒヨコは見つからないわね。

テッド : George? Didn't I tell you to stay at the duck pen?　

ジョージ、アヒルのエサ場にいろって言わなかったかい？

レンキンス : You brought them home! You are a hero monkey!　

彼らを家に戻してくれたんだね！ヒーローだよ！

テッド : George, how did you do it?　ジョージ、いったいどうやって？

ナレーター : After a day lost in the country, what could be more relaxing than going home to the city?

１日田舎で迷子になった後に、街に車で帰るほどリラックスできることはありません。

テッド : Did you see a raft at the river? Bill made it for us. Next weekend we'll take a relaxing raft trip. Won't that be fun?

川でいかだを見たかい？ビルが僕たちのために作ってくれたんだ。来週はいかだでのんびり川下りをしよう。楽しそうじゃないかい？
